Polkadot Frill Mini Hat

This little hat has a lightblue base with slightly darker blue polkadots. It is decorated with Creme colored trim along the edges, broad Creme ribbon and a Pink Carnation at the back. On the underside it has little hairclips, just like the Winter Rose hat and the Wicked Witch hat.

Price: 300 SEK
SOLD!

Here it is worn with the Corset it was made to match. The colors are not exactly the same, but it was close enough considering I had no reference with me when I bought the materials for the hat.

Crimson Cameo Mini Tricorne

Here is yet another mini tricorne that I have made recently.
The base is a deep red and it is decorated with slightly darker red trim, red ribbons, golden red thread and a red and creme white cameo. I haven't actually measured the hat itself, but the small tag laying next to it is exactly 10cm long. So it is a quite small and dainty hat, very light and easy to wear. This one, much like the Peacock Pirate, has a comb attached to the underside.
It is currently displayed at Viola Lahger in Stockholm, Sweden.

Price: 400 SEK
SOLD!

Peacock Pirate Mini Tricorne

This is definitely one of my favorite hats. The base is a very wonky checkered brown and it has been shaped into the shape of a three cornered hat, also known as a Tricorne. It has been decorated with brown trim, brown grosgrain ribbon as well as peacock and pheasant feathers. It is worn with the help of the comb attached to the underside.

It is currently displayed at Viola Lahger in Stockholm, Sweden.
Price: 450 SEK

Here it is, worn by me, so that you might see how big it is.

The First Viola Lahger Teaparty~

Finally, after a very long wait, here are the pictures from the very first Teaparty in Viola Lahger in Stockholm.

My business cards had finally arrived right in time for the teaparty so they got to take their place among the others on the counter.

Imperial Fiddlesticks Hats displayed among some of the Viola Lahger Corsets~

All of the guests got to try on pretty much anything they wanted~

Even I found a corset that I couldn't resist trying on~

Some time during the day I sold my Cream Dream Hat to this lovely girl~

Commission: Wicked Witch Mini Hat

I got this order about a week before Halloween. It was at the Halloween teaparty at Viola Lagher actually.
The girl in question wanted a mini Witchhat to wear at a party the next weekend. All she requested was for it to be black and shaped like a traditional Witch hat. We also talked about adding some other color, but she left it to me to decide which one.
In the end I made a hat that had a black base and was decorated with dark blue trim, blue flowers, black dotted tulle, blue ribbons and a couple of black stones dangling from little chains. This one, like the Winter Rose hat, has little hairclips attached to the bottom.
I am really quite happy with the way it turned out and the girl who ordered it seemed equally pleased.

Price: 400SEK
SOLD!

Cream Dream Hat

This is probably the biggest hat I have tried to make and when I started on it I was a little afraid that if might not look so good in the end. Fortunately, it turned out a lot better than I had ever expected!
The base is a very light creme color and it is decorated with ivory trim and handmade flowers as well as a big bow made out of white tulle. There's a comb attached to the underside so that it can easily be worn in both loose or tied back hair. This particular type of hat looks great with big hairdos but can be worn any way you like~

Price: 400SEK
SOLD!

Pearl Pastry Mini Hat

When these pictures were taken this hat was affectionately named the Cake-hat.
It has a very light mint-colored base and is decorated with snow-white pearls, ribbons, lace trim and tulle. It also has light green ivy leaves and pale pink flowers. The hat is attached to a white headband for easy wearing.
It is currently displayed in Viola Lahger in Stockholm, Sweden.

Price: 450 SEK

Winter Rose Mini Hat

This is actually the first hat I ever made, believe it or not! I originally made it for myself, but since I haven't used it a single time I decided to put it up for sale~
Right now it is displayed in Viola Lahger in Stockholm.
Price: 400 SEK

The hat is completely snow-white with a lot of ribbons, roses and feathers in the same color. It also has silver lace trim around all of the edges.

It comes with two little hairclips so that it can easily be attached to your hair.

Temporary Hiatus

Some... things happened, in my family and otherwise, and now I find myself unable to get anything done. So I will be disappearing for a while until I can get myself sorted out. I'm not sure when I will be back, but I just thought I'd warn you. Uhm... yeah. Now that I have already been to the Viola Lahger Teaparty it seems like I have lost all will to celebrate Halloween so I might just go into hibernation until Christmas. Hm, yes, that would be nice.

I will finish the hat order for this weekend, but I don't think I will be accepting any new ones for a while. Sorry. I just can't work like this.
That is... all.
Good day.

Business Cards Delay

With the up and coming Victorian Teaparty I had decided a couple of weeks ago that I would be really professional and order proper businesscards. I spent a lot of time in photoshop until I had designs that I was really happy with and then ordered them in a nifty little format from Moo.com. All was going really well until I recieved an email yesterday saying that my cards wouldn't arrive until September 9th... And the teaparty is on August 29th... See my problem? *sigh*

Obviously, the cards won't be here on time so I will have to think of something else... One option would be to print one-sided cards on normal paper and then cut them to the appropriate size but... I don't know... It just won't look as pretty! And, like all my friends should know by now, I am a perfectionist when it comes to things like this.

Oh well, I'll think of some solution eventually.
Until then I'll give you a little preview of the cards I ordered~

Hat Color Themes

I have recently purchased a lot of different materials for the new hats I intend to make. Flowers and ribbons, pearls and tulle, as well as a lot of fabric in different colors and with different textures. I am really looking forward to experimenting with them all.

The new hats that I am going to make for the Victorian Teaparty are not done yet by any stretch of the imagination, however, here are some of the color combinations that I am currently thinking of:

Viola Lahger Teaparty

Wonderful news!
My hats will be displayed at the Grand Victorian Teaparty at the Viola Lahger Boutique in Stockholm!

The Teaparty was arranged to promote Viola Lahger and their corsets but will also feature Jewelry from Eleonoras and hats from Imperial Fiddlesticks. It will be an intimate little get together for ten people only and there will be tea and cake for all the people present.
Time: August 29th, 4-8pm.
Place: Viola Lahger, Stockholm
Dresscode: Victorian~ in other words: dresses and skirts and hats and corsets and gloves and corsages. Or possibly tophats and spats if that is what you fancy. No denim allowed.

Because of the popularity of this event there will most likely be another Teaparty every month, or at least every other month, starting with the first one in August. Imperial Fiddlesticks will hopefully be present at each and every one of them.

For more information about how to get tickets, please go to my dear friend Tea's blog:

Several new hats are being made right this moment especially for this Teaparty and I really hope people will like them. I will, of course, also be present to answer any questions that people might have.

Imperial Fiddlesticks

Welcome to Imperial Fiddlesticks Design.
This blog will be dedicated to my Handmade Hats and other Victorian-inspired accessories.

I have been making hats as a hobby for little over a year now and I have fallen completely in love with the craft. Hats used to be a wonderful accessory that women, and men, wore at all times but now they have become almost completely forgotten. So I have decided to share my love of hats with the rest of the world by starting to take commissions.

All my miniature hats are unique and made completely by hand. They come in many different sizes, colors and shapes, all depending on my customer's wishes. Sample pictures will come soon as well as more information regarding prices and shipping.

There is still quite a lot to be done before I can start taking orders, unfortunately, but at least the blog is up now and the layout is done. I am well on my way, so to speak.
